Structure of Insulated Glass and Commissioning Method of Production Line 0

Glass is an indispensable basic material in daily life. From daily necessities such as glass cups and windows to architectural decorative materials like glass curtain walls, it has made tremendous contributions to the development of world civilization. In the field of glass processing, equipment such as automatic glass cutting machines is widely used for its outstanding performance. Below, we will briefly introduce the structure of insulated glass and explain the commissioning method of the insulated glass production line.

I. Core Structure of Insulated Glass

Insulated glass is composed of two or more layers of flat glass. Around the edges, two or more glass sheets are bonded and sealed with sealing strips and glass spacers using a high-airtightness composite adhesive. The middle is filled with dry gas, and desiccant is placed inside the frame to ensure the dryness of the air between the glass sheets. Various types of glass raw sheets with different properties can be selected as required, such as colorless transparent float glass, patterned glass, heat-absorbing glass, heat-reflective glass, wired glass, tempered glass, etc., which are bonded, welded or fused with frames (aluminum frames or glass spacers, etc.) to form the final product.

  • Basic Composition: It takes two or more layers of flat glass as the main body. The edges are tightly bonded and sealed with high-airtightness composite adhesive, connecting the glass sheets with special sealing strips and glass spacers to form a closed intermediate cavity. This sealing structure is the core premise for insulated glass to exert its thermal insulation and sound insulation performance, which can effectively prevent air circulation and water vapor penetration between the inside of the cavity and the outside.
  • Cavity Design: The sealed intermediate cavity is filled with dry gas (usually dry air, and some high-end products are filled with inert gas such as argon). Meanwhile, desiccant is placed inside the frame to continuously absorb residual water vapor in the cavity, ensuring the dryness of the air between the glass sheets and avoiding fogging and condensation caused by water vapor, which may affect light transmittance and service life.
  • Raw Sheet Selection: The raw glass sheets of insulated glass can be flexibly matched according to the requirements of the application scenario, choosing flat glass with different properties. Common types include colorless transparent float glass, patterned glass, heat-absorbing glass, heat-reflective glass, wired glass, tempered glass, etc. The frame material can be aluminum frame or glass spacer, which is fixed with the raw glass sheets through bonding, welding or fusion to form a complete insulated glass product.
  • Specification Parameters: The thickness of the raw glass sheets for insulated glass can be 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, etc., and the thickness of the air layer can be 6mm, 9mm, 12mm. The thermal conductivity of glass is 27 times that of air; as long as the insulated glass is well-sealed, it can achieve excellent thermal insulation effect.
  • Performance Principle: The thermal conductivity of glass is 27 times that of air. The closed air layer of insulated glass can effectively block heat conduction. As long as the insulated glass is sealed properly, it can achieve an optimal thermal insulation effect, reducing temperature exchange between indoor and outdoor spaces and lowering the energy consumption of air conditioning and heating equipment.
  • High-performance Upgrade: Different from ordinary insulated glass, high-performance insulated glass is coated with a special metal film with excellent thermal performance on the side of the outer glass facing the intermediate air layer, in addition to filling the space between the two glass layers with dry air. It can block a considerable amount of energy from the sun entering the room, achieving a better thermal insulation effect.

II. Commissioning Method of Insulated Glass Production Line

The commissioning quality of the insulated glass production line directly affects the sealing performance, dimensional accuracy and service life of the products. The commissioning process must follow operating specifications strictly to ensure each link meets the standards. The specific commissioning steps are as follows:

1.On-site Condition Preparation

The on-site environment shall be equipped with 380V AC power supply, industrial tap water source and drainage ditch. Mostinsulated glass equipment and door and window equipment use 380V power supply to maintain the stability of equipment operation. A clean tap water source and unobstructed drainage are the guarantees for the good operation of the cleaning machine.

2.Correct Placement of Equipment

Place the feeding section frame, cleaning section frame, drying section frame, discharging section frame, control cabinet and ventilation cabinet in the correct order. Improper placement will not only reduce work efficiency but also lead to unqualified product quality.

3.Level Adjustment

Adjust the supports to level the entire machine, with a tolerance of 1.5mm horizontally and 3mm vertically (only allowing the feeding section to be higher than the discharging section).

4.Frame Connection and Fastening

After the longitudinal levelness of the entire machine meets the requirements, connect and fasten the four sections of the frame (connecting bolt pairs are provided on the frame).

5. Gap Sealing Treatment
Apply glass glue in the gaps between the feeding section frame and the cleaning section frame, and between the cleaning section frame and the drying section frame to prevent water leakage at these two positions.

6.Transmission System Connection

Connect each transmission system in accordance with relevant standards.

7. Water Tank Cleaning and Filling

Clean the water tank thoroughly before filling it with water.

8.Trial Operation Inspection

After installation and adjustment, conduct trial operation in accordance with the operation sequence specified in this manual. During the trial operation, fully observe the operation status of the equipment and inspect the produced insulated glass samples to ensure the equipment runs stably and the product quality meets the standards.
In summary, insulated glass has excellent comprehensive performance due to its unique structural design, and the standardized commissioning of the production line is the key to ensuring the quality of insulated glass. In actual production, it is necessary to strictly follow the above structural design points and commissioning specifications, combine with equipment characteristics and product requirements, and optimize the production process to continuously produce high-quality insulated glass products that meet the application needs of construction, decoration and other industries.
